DVD Description

Divorce number 2 is immediately on the cards as the fifth season opens with "The One After Ross Says Rachel." As of this point, Ross's character undergoes some extreme personality changes (which apparently lost David Schwimmer many female fans). His incessant whining drives all the Friends to distraction, especially in "The One Where Ross Moves In" with Chandler (Matthew Perry) and Joey (Matt LeBlanc). Later things get uncomfortable both at work and at home when he goes through a period of rage ("The One with Ross's Sandwich"). While all this downplays his failed relationship with Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), the real idea is to allow focus on the secret pairing of Chandler and Monica (Courteney Cox) after a night of passion in London. This made for a return to the show's appealingly silly atmosphere as poor Joey is caught in the middle of everyone's secrets. Building to "The One Where Everybody Finds Out," the silliness pauses for some genuinely touching interplay between Perry and Cox. The previous year's semi-serious thread about Phoebe's (Lisa Kudrow) birth gets forgotten fast: to distract the viewer she's introduced to Gary (Michael Rapaport) in "The One with the Cop." This leads to some hilarious parodying with Phoebe interrogated about apartment hunting, and the guys excited and then scared in "The One with the Ride-Along." She's more than over him by the time of the two-part finale, "The One in Vegas," though, especially since she missed out on London. Just in case fans thought Chandler and Monica had permanently stolen the spotlight, a cliffhanger shocks expectation again with Ross and Rachel bursting out of a chapel.... --Paul Tonks

One of the Best Seasons!

The Fifth Season is where the show really starts getting good. Many people have complained about Monica's change in character, but I really like it! I know that Ross gets whiny, but who actually liked Ross to begin with? The other characters are great as always! This season has some of the funniest episodes, like "The One Where Everybody Finds Out" and "The One With All the Resolutions" This season is just classic right up to the season finale cliffhanger, which makes you wish January 27 would come sooner.

Some have complained that the outtakes episode wasn't included with this season. It won't be on Season 6, either. It aired during Season 7 and I'm pretty sure that it will be included with that season. But season 5 is enough to hold you until January and then when season 7 comes out. This season rocks!

The Best Season Yet

I am a huge fan of FRIENDS. I have all of the VHSs or DVDs that have come out yet. Like the Best of Friends and all of the Seasons 1-5. I think this is the best season yet because every episode makes you laugh, I mean really laugh.

Some of my favorite episodes are:

The One Hundredth,where Pheobe gives birth to triplets;

The One with All the Thanksgivings, where they relive the past worst Thanksgivings;

The One with Ross's Sandwich, where Ross gets fired for yelling at his boss about his Turkey Sandwich with the Moist Maker;

The One with Chandler's Work Laugh, where Chandler and Monica have a very annoying work laugh;

The One Where Everybody Finds Out, when Pheobe tries to make Chandler tell he is with Monica and then finds out they're in love;

The One Where Ross Can't Flirt, he tries to flirt with the Hot Pizza Delivery Girl and gets all nervous and starts talking about gas;

The One in Vegas, where Monica and Chandler make a bet and if they win they get married and then find Rachel and Ross are getting married before them

If you don't already have this season and just want to laugh, BUY THIS SEASON!!!!!!

Another great season

Friends is a really great comedy! Just look at the proof! The show has been running a full decade now! The cast features Jennifer Aniston (Rachel Green), Courtney Cox (Monica Gellar), Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), Matt Le Blanc (Joey Tribbiani), Matthew Perry (Chandler Bing), and David Scwhimmer (Ross Gellar), along with several guests every season. Each character is unique in their own way. Their lovable personalities, the pranks, the tricks, the adventures, the job searches, the weddings, the wishes, and many other events make it the greatest television show in history. If you aren't a "Friends" fan at the moment, you will be. This show has won several awards and definitely deserves them all.

Every episode is great. If the story isn't gripping enough of you, the humour certainly will be. Season five has twenty-three episodes full of laughter:

1: The One After Ross Says Rachel
2: The One With All the Kissing
3. The One Hundredth
4: The One Where Phoebe Hates PBS
5: The One With The Kips
6: The One With The Yeti
7: The One Where Ross Moves In
8: The One With The Thanksgiving Flashbacks
9: The One With Ross's Sandwich
10: The One With The Inappropriate Sister
11: The One With All The Resolutions
12: The One With Chandler's Work Laugh
13: The One With Joey's Bag
14: The One Where Everybody Finds Out
15: The One With The Girl Who Hits Joey
16: The One With The Cop
17: The One With Rachel's Inadvertent Kiss
18: The One Where Rachel Smokes
19: The One Where Ross Can't Flirt
20: The One With The Ride Along
21: The One With The Ball
22: The One With Joey's Big Break
23: The One in Vegas, Part 1
23: The One in Vegas, Part 2

The DVDs are well worth buying because it's clear how user-friendly they are from the get-go. Unlike DVDs for other TV shows, "Friends" comes in a nice package, has nice extra features, and lets you jump right into watching without lots of start-up selection menus.
