VHS Tape Description

Disney's first animated feature in CinemaScope is now available in widescreen presentations on video, and it is definitely good to get the whole picture. One of the studio's most original and charming movies, the 1955 film tells the story of a rakish, street-smart dog named Tramp, who helps an aristocratic pooch named Lady out of some trouble and then commences a romance with her. Sweet, funny scenes abound, and the combination of innocence and sophistication would have done well in a live-action picture. Peggy Lee cowrote the songs and provides the voice of the Siamese cats in one of the film's best-known musical sequences. This newly restored version spruces up both sonics and visuals, and a letterbox version is available. --Tom Keogh

Lady And The Tramp To Be Released in 2009

From my Disney review book I have on new releases. Cinderella 2006, Little Mermaid 2008, Lady & The Tramp 2009, 101 Dalmatians 2010. All In Platinum Editions. Snow White,Beauty & The Beast,Aladdin, Bambi The Jungle Book, Cinderella in October. Are the ones that will be or are already released.Confirmed August 31,2004

A beautiful movie, but you may want to wait....

This is a fantastic movie. A true classic that will bring you to tears. (Hence, the five star rating.)

Some advice: If you are as big a fan of this movie as I am, you may want to wait for Disney to release the 2-disc "Platinum Edition." This edition will have the bonus features that this "Limited Issue" lacks. It is the next scheduled release after Cinderella (October '05) of the Platinum releases. It will be out March of 2006. So, if you are willing to wait, you can probably find it for around 20 dollars, which is a much better price than buying it second hand right now (and you will get the great bonus feautures that we all love!!!)

I hope you found this review helpful, since I want everyone to be able to enjoy one of the best Disney movies ever made!

Quality of DVD

I purchased three DVD's from three different sources and none would play correctly. Must be a manufacturing problem ?
I tried it on several DVD players.
