Summit Entertainment, the movie studio that was responsible for bringing the dread of many men and the excruciatingly ecstatic love-filled screams of women all around the world with the “Twilight” movie franchise, has now released another movie which centers on abduction and paranoia. Of course, everybody loves a good thriller these days, but when you have got this movie studio backing it up, sometimes you’d have to wonder if they’re just out to provide some theatrical pass time for movie goers until the final installment of the critically panned but commercially successful vampire love stories will be unleashed. Nonetheless, it stars Amanda Seyfried, so that’s a good thing for the male demographic at least, right? With that in mind, you can always watch Gone online when it’s released February 24th, 2012.

There is really not much marketing and promotion done for this new Summit Entertainment movie except for an exclusive one-sheet poster and a trailer which seems to give away the entire movie, but if you watch Gone online just might end up being pleasantly surprised. Granted that it hasn’t been released yet, but if thrillers and slasher flicks are your cup of tea, you might want to watch Gone online and see if you might end up liking it. The movie’s basic plotline revolves around a girl named Jill (portrayed by the highly charming Seyfried herself), who come back home from a late shift, only to discover that her sister has gone missing. She immediately comes to the conclusion that the same person who kidnapped her years back might be responsible for this heinous act, thus forcing her to take matters into her own hands even without the assistance of the city’s finest, namely the police (which seems rather clichéd, but hey, it’s Hollywood… a recycle bin of ideas). If you plan to watch Gone online with an open mind, however, you just might end up liking it. After all, Seyfried is known to be a high caliber actress who has put out some really exceptional performances over the last few movies (most of which weren’t really box office successes).

Nonetheless, this upcoming movie seems to put a unique spin around the serial killer concept mainly for the really big fact that we do not exactly know if there really is one, or if the main character is simply delusional and has finally gone bonkers after all these years of therapy. The movie is directed by Brazilian filmmaker Heitor Dahlia and is written by Allison Burnett, who is responsible for movies like “Autumn in New York,” “Fame” and the upcoming entry in the Underworld horror action movie franchise, “Underworld Awakening 3D.” If you’re willing to spend a few bucks on movie tickets next year and look for something that’s not exactly hyped up and just may end up to be quite an unexpected satisfying movie experience, perhaps you might like to watch Gone online and see if it’s as good of a movie as Summit Entertainment hopes it would be.
