The film however, is a little bit filled with issues. The first one is regarding the title of the movie. A while back, it was announced that the sequel will be titled G.I. Joe: Cobra Strikes. However, recent developments reveal that the film would instead be titled G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation. Aside from this, a lot of changes were done regarding the film. Originally, Stephen Sommers, the director of the first movie was to return as the director for the new one. But in February 2011, Paramount Pictures announced that it will be Jon Chu who will be directing. Jon Chu is an American film director born in November 2, 1979. He directed a couple of dance movies such as Step Up, Step Up 2: The Streets and Step Up 3D. Most of the films that he directed has dance in it. This might spark a few doubts about him directing this second Joe movie. He was actually asked once as to why all his work has dance in it. All he said is that he gets inspired when he sees dancers. Does this mean that we would be expecting a few dance sequences in this new Joe movie?

Another issue surrounding this G.I. Joe movie is the death of a crew member during the creation of the movie. It was reported that the incident happened in the New Orleans set. Mike Huber was a local of New Orleans. It was said that he was working with a scissor-lift when a bizarre accident happened. The whole team sent their condolences to the family and mentioned that they will fully cooperate in all investigations to find out how the accident happened. The production team then mentioned that the safety of their cast and crew is their concern.
